Description
Led by our expert instructor who is passionate about cake decorating, this class is designed to help you with step-by-step instructions so that you can make social media worthy cakes with ease. Our instructor will teach you how to assemble and decorate the perfect cakes. This set of classes will go over cake assembly, color pairing, piping, decorating tricks and more. It doesn't matter if you have no experience at all as this beginner class will take you from an amateur to a piping pro.
CLASS ONE
In this session, Heather will demonstrate how to make smooth buttercream icing, stack cakes, and apply various icing techniques using different utensils and spatulas. Students will also learn about the functions of basic piping tips like #3, #4, #1M, and #104.
Students will have the opportunity to practice their piping techniques on parchment paper, allowing them to refine their skills in a hands-on manner. Heather will showcase these techniques on a demonstration cake, which will be sliced and enjoyed at the end of the class.
Supplies needed for class: 4 cups buttercream icing, cake utensils, Parchment paper, couplers, apron, large plastic icing bags, all tips, rag, small spray bottle.
CLASS TWO
In the second class of this three-part series, students should arrive with their cakes iced in pastel pink. Heather Domingue will guide them through smoothing techniques using various cake scrapers to achieve a professional finish.
Students will continue their learning by exploring different piping tips and creating buttercream flowers, including roses, with hands-on practice. Heather will provide personalized guidance as students apply their new skills to their own cakes. This class builds on the basics and introduces advanced decorating techniques to enhance their cake artistry.
Supplies needed for class: 1- eight inch double layered iced cake, 6 cups buttercream icing, disposable plastic bag, rose nail, parchment paper, leveler, coupler, food coloring, cake utensils, apron, ten-inch cake board, large plastic icing bags, all tips, rag, container to place utensils in, small spray bottle.
CLASS THREE
In the final class of this three-part series, students will bring their pre-iced cakes ready for a transformative decorating experience. Heather Domingue will lead the class in creating a stunning Bridgerton-themed cake, using a variety of colors and buttercream techniques to achieve an elegant, vintage look.
Students will learn to make beautiful roses and other decorative flowers, incorporating them into their cake designs. By the end of the class, each student will leave with a professionally decorated cake they can proudly take home.
Supplies needed for class: Same as class two.
Classes are 60-75 minutes and start at 6 PM.
