This advanced buttercream class will teach you professional techniques, including color blending, piping, sculpting, sharp edges, and multi-tier cake stacking for a Melted Ice Cream Cake. Perfect for those with basic experience, you'll learn how to create beautiful, polished cakes with confidence.
CLASS ONE
Students will begin by watching a demonstration on assembling and stacking a cake for stability and a flawless finish. Then, they’ll practice advanced icing techniques using piping tips 21 and 1M on parchment paper, refining their skills before applying them to a cake in the next session.
Supplies needed for class: 4 cups buttercream icing, tips: 21, 1M, large plastic icing bags, coupler, cake utensils (spatula, comb, scraper), parchment paper, rag, apron(optional)
CLASS TWO
In this session, students will bring their crumb-coated cakes ready for the next step. The instructor will demonstrate proper stacking techniques to ensure stability and a professional structure. Then, students will apply their skills by icing their cakes, focusing on smooth finishes, sharp edges, and advanced buttercream technique for a polished, professional look.
Supplies needed for class: 6 cups buttercream icing, 6 inch crumb coated cake, 8 inch crumb coated cake, cake utensils (spatula, comb, scraper), coupler, large plastic icing bags, 8 inch cake board, 10 inch cake board, 10” x 10” inch cake box, cake turntable, boba straws, scissors, food coloring
Classes are 60-75 minutes and start at 6 PM.
